Honey Habanero Oatmeal Cookies Recipe

Ingredients
  • 3 tablespoons of butter at room temperature
  • ½ cup of brown sugar
  • ¼ cup of honey or agave nectar
  • One egg slightly beaten
  • 1 tablespoon of water
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla
  • ½-cup whole-wheat flour
  • ½-teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½-teaspoon ground cloves
  • A pinch of allspice
  • ½ to 1 teaspoon of minced Habanero pepper.
  • ¼ teaspoon of baking soda
  • 1 1/2 cups of rolled oats
  • ¼ cup of raisins
  • CHOCOLATE:
  • One 3.5 oz bar of milk or dark chocolate

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix the butter, brown sugar, honey, egg, water, Habanero pepper and vanilla.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix the dry ingredients
  4. Combine all the ingredients together and mix well.
  5. Drop large spoonfuls onto a baking sheet.
  6. Bake for 12 – 20 minutes until golden brown depending on the size of your cookies and oven.
  7. Cool for ten minutes then remove to a wire rack and let cool completely
  8. Melt chocolate in a micro -wave and drizzle over tops of cookies.
  9. Makes one dozen large cookies
