Ingredients

How to make it

  • Slice french loaf in half length wise.
  • Put olives In food processor or chopper and mince well.
  • Put butter, pressed garlic, chopped olives, and cheese in a bowl and mix well.
  • Spread mixture on both halves of bread.
  • Put bread on a baking sheet and put under the broiler on high.
  • Let broil until bread is toasted to your liking.
  • If you make your own french bread, make sure it is completely cool before spreading the mixture on the bread or it will become gummy/doughy. (Trial & error :) )

Yum, we loved this. I threw everything in the food processor and mixed it, then spread it on the bread. Really quick and simple. I found it covered half of a traditional 1 lb. loaf of Italian bread. I think next time I will move my rack down one more notch to give the inside of the bread a bit more time to toast up.

Having a senior moment this morning. Made the bread. Slathered the paste on and broiled. Forgot to use garlic. It was still very good.

Used Kalamata(sp) olives. And I don't know where my parmesan cheese got off to. Had to use Colby-Jack instead. Fortunately I did remember the butter.
