Ingredients
  • 1 loaf french bread ( can make your own or store bought)
  • 1 garlic clove pressed
  • 1 stick of real butter (softened)
  • about 12 green olives w/pimento
  • 1/8 cup parmesean cheese

Directions
  1. Slice french loaf in half length wise.
  2. Put olives In food processor or chopper and mince well.
  3. Put butter, pressed garlic, chopped olives, and cheese in a bowl and mix well.
  4. Spread mixture on both halves of bread.
  5. Put bread on a baking sheet and put under the broiler on high.
  6. Let broil until bread is toasted to your liking.
  7. If you make your own french bread, make sure it is completely cool before spreading the mixture on the bread or it will become gummy/doughy. (Trial & error :) )

This does sound yummy! Love the olive spread here!

Hi Momto5...I have been meaning to try this since you submitted it a couple months ago...and man have I been missing out! It was soooooo good! My not so olive loving husband even liked it and the little one ate 2 huge pieces. Anyway...great bread!

Having a senior moment this morning. Made the bread. Slathered the paste on and broiled. Forgot to use garlic. It was still very good.

Used Kalamata(sp) olives. And I don't know where my parmesan cheese got off to. Had to use Colby-Jack instead. Fortunately I did remember the butter.

Yum, we loved this. I threw everything in the food processor and mixed it, then spread it on the bread. Really quick and simple. I found it covered half of a traditional 1 lb. loaf of Italian bread. I think next time I will move my rack down one more notch to give the inside of the bread a bit more time to toast up.

Sounds fantastic!

This sounds incredible. Everything tastes better with Green olives. 5 forks from me!!!
