How to make it

  • Steam Shrimp for 3 minutes and place into and ice an water bath , set aside.
  • Place mussels in a large covered pot and cook over high heat until mussels open/remove mussels and place in bowl/ Melt butter in same pot add garlic, and onion saute' until onion is translucent/ Add 3 tablespoons parsley, lemon juice, lemon peel and reserved liquid from mussels and bring to boil/ add the Shrimp if using Season to taste with salt and pepper. Drizzle garlic butter over mussels. Sprinkle with 1 tablespoon parsley and hot pepper flakes.

    Help me. Did I read this wrong or do you put the mussels in a pot and heat WITHOUT any liquid in it? After doing this, the residual liquid where does it come from? Just don't want to make a mistake after cleaning 3 lbs of mussels! lol.

    This is my favorite way to serve mussels, though on occasion I'll toss in a bit of Old Bay. I think that they're really best when treated simply.

    This is what I had in a restaurant on NYE.. but not even close to the fresh flavor combo that you have here.. This recipe, some crusty bread... I just doesn't get any better..... I will be making this time and time again..... ;-)

    Hi Michael,

    I have tried this one!! It was gorgeous! however I did not have enough butter so instead olive oil!
    And I put some soy sauce in it (very Japaneseyyyy)
