Ingredients

How to make it

  • Slice down the center of a hot dog but not all the way through.
  • Make the slice where you can stuff into the hot dog.
  • Poke chunks of cheese (or slices) into the slit.
  • Wrap with piece(s) of bacon and use toothpicks to hold bacon
  • at each end of hot dog.
  • Place on grill and rotate as you would normally grill hot dogs.
  • When desired cooking is met, remove toothpicks, put in hot dog bun.
  • Squirt mustard, ketchup, or however you like and commence eating.
  • (I put both mustard and ketchup on mine and also some purple onion and it was awesome)

These were great. I used Gruyere cheese but next time I think I would stuff in more as mine seemed to disappear! Fired up my charcoal grill - cooked one side 10 minutes and 7 for the other. My hot dog got a bit burned but that happens to be the way I like them so I was happy. I wanted to make sure the bacon got done. I added a picture and a thread in IMI 12/26/13

I know alot of people are going to question why I gave a hot dog recipe a fork rating of 5 but these are sooooooooooooooooo good. In Tucson, AZ they have vendors all over the place in the south part of the city where they make these. You could put on weight just from the aroma.

    Thanks for posting.
