Ingredients
  • 300 to 340 gr. firm cookies, like shortbread
  • 1 1/2 to 2 cups walnuts, or other nuts, chopped
  • 1 can (14.5 oz.) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 stick (113 gr.) butter, softened
  • 1 bar (120 gr.) chocolate (I like to use dark Hershey's)

Directions
  1. Place the cookies in a lg. ziplock bag and roll them with a wooden rolling pin, or tap slightly with a meat mallet, until crushed. Should resemble chunky crumbs.
  2. Break the chocolate in 1-inch pieces.
  3. in a medium saucepan, heat up sweetened condensed milk and chocolate pieces over low heat. Stir for a few minutes, until the chocolate has melted. Stir in the softened butter and mix well.
  4. Take the mixture off the heat and stir in chopped nuts and crushed cookies. Mix until well combined.
  5. Divide the mixture in half. Place each half on a rectangle of parchment paper, or use a non-stick foil paper. Wrap each half, forming a log, and twist the ends. You will have two logs. Freeze over night. The next day peel off the paper and slice in circles. The leftovers can be kept in a fridge wrapped in parchment for up to 1 month, or stored in a freezer for up to 6 months.

This is great. I have already sent it and printed it out. It would also go well with Spiced Rum in place of the condensed milk. Only, perhaps, more crushed cookies. Tee hee hee! I know "J" would love it. Thank you so much for sharing. Forgive me for finding a way to get the alcohol in there. Huge FIVE from the two of us.

I'll need a shot of insulin after this one.... but what the heck. Go for it.

(actually, I'm relieved. From the name, I though it was going to have chunks of meat in it ;-)

Fabulous!

Pieplate, you just serve it like you would chocolate truffles. Great with coffee or a glass of wine!

What a fun and fattening dessert. Do you have it in for our health?! On a crappy day I can see downing this with a big mug of coffee followed by some nice wine as my dinner. ;-)

Juels, you know that I'll just have to try this recipe! It sounds so rich and similar to an old fashioned rum ball without the rum even if it is served in a log shape. My hips thank you as I'm sure I'll gain a pound after indulging in your briliant recipe! Thanks so much for sharing another Winner!

I looked at the name yesterday and thought to my self yuck and went on. All night I thought now why would anyone put meat and chocolate together. This morning as I saw the recipe name again it got the better of me. Was it a chocolate sauce poured over or some how put into the meat. Well I just had to look. What a great recipe. Crazy and decieving name though. And to think I lamost missed it. Really love the idea thanks>
