Hello!! I can't believe this hasn't been asked yet

This is a group called "comfort foods" :)

Well what is your favorite type of comfort food. Are you more of a carboholic? Salty person, or is it sweets for you?

By comfort food, maybe I mean when your feeling all cozy, and it's cold out. So for me it would be lasagna, of course my one weakness.

I get cravings depending on what my physical or emotional needs are. Some times only carbs, ice cream or chocolate will do. But there are those times as when I was in the hospital and had an almost insatiable craving for bananas. Seriously I had my daughter smuggle in a large bunch of them for me.

Usually, when I 'crave' a food, it's gotta be savoury! Sometimes salty, sometimes tart & tangy, but rarely sweet....

Sometimes it's a texture -- like crunchy, or creamy-smooth -- but it seems to always have to be 'savoury'. And I usually stick with pastas and / or vegetables, often cheese, often eggs. Not-so-often meat, though.....

It's amazing just how many tastes , textures, flavours we can decipher!!

When I crave garlic, NOTHING else will substitute!!

Unless it is the day before I have to go to the dentist :)

    LOL!

So many comfort foods...so little time...LOL...for when it's cold out and I just want something cozy: macaroni and tomatoes, homeade soups, creamy casseroles. For when I am stressed and need that kind of comfort food...chocolate, ice cream, anything sweet and creamy!

Mexican food. Spicy food. I LOVE having nachos with that gooey cheese and jalapenos at the movie theater. But, my all time fall back is cheese enchiladas, refried beans, spanish rice, and crunchy or puffy tacos!

Comfort foods are definitely one of my favourite foods to make for me and my kids, expecially on these cold days. One of my favourite comfort foods is chicken stew and dumplings and I love pasta and one that my kids love is sloppy joes!

Hi all! I just joined the group today and posted some recipes, I hope you all like them!

My favorite comfort food is the food that is on my plate or in my mouth! lol When I think comfort foods I think stews, home made chicken and noodles or beef and noodles, creamed chicken with dumplings, chili, mac -n- cheese, lasagna, you know your basic heavy hitters. So I guess I'm in with the savory/salty group.

Although when my sweet tooth kicks in, look out! There will be enough cake and ice cream around here to have a social! lol

LOL, haven't been back to my own group for months. Well from my perspecive comfort foods are those old mellow favorites that don't have alfalfa grass, spots of something on the plate, statuary, plastic eggs or any other extreme presentation. Just good eating. Can be anything.

The idea is I seldom serve a plate of things piled on top of each other. I kinda like to pick my next spoonful for myself.

Now I'm not against presentation at all, but the food is the point. Making it look nice is and extra. Trying to paint a picture with the food is what my 18 month old grandchild does on his high chair. :-)
