Ingredients

How to make it

  • Place softened cream cheese into medium mixing bowl and blend until creamy.
  • Slice green onions finely.
  • Rinse dried beef well under cool running water. Pat dry.
  • Process dried beef in food processor fitted with blade until very finely chopped.
  • Add onions, liquids and spices to cream cheese. Using hand mixer, blend until mixed well and creamy.
  • Stir in shredded cheese and chopped beef.
  • Divide cheeseball into either two large or three smaller batches.
  • Roll into ball shape with hands.
  • Roll ball in nuts until well coated.
  • Wrap cheeseballs tightly in Saran wrap or PressNSeal.
  • Refrigerate for at least 3 hours before serving.
  • This cheeseball lasts and lasts in the refrigerator. If wrapped tightly, it would also freeze very well. Better when made a few days ahead, to let the flavors mingle!

O.K. I have been cooking for an awfully long time and I don't have a clue what chipped beef is. I looked it up in images and it scared me. I can make this, maybe, with some other form of meat-pepperoni?

Love the chipped beef inclusion. Count me as a big fan. Even the old s.o.s. is a favorite here.

Had to check your dried beef cheeseball, and I think you're right it sounds like the greatest.
I don't think I have ever had it with A-1 Sauce in it sounds yummy. I will definitely give it a try. Thanks

Oh my goodness - this sounds so great! It reminds me that I haven't had dried chipped beef in ages...and there were several popular recipes back in the day that used it. Wow....I need to look into those, too. Thanks for the wonderful recipe. I'm saving this to try soon.

Dried chipped beef....(wanders away humming)... =)

Oh Judy that cheeseball is so pretty, I am just lazy and don't roll mine into a ball, I just leave it flat and spread crackers around the plate. LOL
