Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup plain flour
  • 1/2 cup salt
  • 1/4 tsp. essential oil
  • 2/3 cups boiling water
  • Food coloring, if desired
  • Glitter or other "mix in's" as desired to personalize
  • Kitchen Gloves
  • Option: Substitute a small quantity of your favorite perfume for the essential oil.
  • ** Adult supervision is recommended. Gloves are also recommended, as essential oils and fragrances may be irritating to the skin or toxic.**

Directions
  1. In a bowl, mix all dry ingredients well.
  2. Add your favorite essential oil and boiling water to dry ingredients.
  3. (The scent will be strong, but will fade slightly when your rocks dry.)
  4. For colored stones, blend in food coloring, one drop at a time, until desired shade is reached.
  5. Blend ingredients and form roughly shaped stones. (I like to make them small)
  6. Have fun!
  7. Allow stones to dry for about 2 hours.
  8. Home made freshner!

What a great idea.. thanks for the post

Great post, I was so excited I went to give you a 5 and hit a 4 darn it. Can you get that fixed?

This is such a neat idea, how did you find it?

Marie

Can't wait to try this. Great idea!

Oh this is a treat and wonderful for gifts ^5

Did you make the ones in the picture too? How pretty. I have to make these.. I can get the oils at Hobby Lobby .. right?

Excellent idea!!! I am anxious to make these. What a wonderful way to use up perfumes or essential oils that are not being used quickly enough. Cheers!!!

Cool!and they look so pretty!

I love the idea of putting them in the ash tray in the car, a natural freshener. Now do you know how they make the oils for the room diffusers? I have some that I need to refill and I'm so cheap, *wink* I wonder what proportion of oil they use. I'll be trying this quite soon. Thanks so very much for the post, dear.

I am not familiar with a *Hobby Lobby*, or about *room diffusers*, but if you go to any Health Food store, they will carry oils in a variety of scents. This is a nice way to do a project on a snowy day or over a weekend! You can double the mixture to make more, it all depends on the size of the sculpted shapes you want to make.

How perfect! Great idea!

THANK YOU .....I WOULD HAVE NEVER THOUGHT OF THAT
