Dinner tonight. I was scared of 12 oz of chili sauce so I bought the 5 oz bottle which was plenty of heat for me. I could taste the cola a bit at times as well! I did this in my crockpot and the potatoes and carrots were on the bottom and they have a ton of flavor. Very tasty. Added my picture, too. A bit more in IMI

4.7lb roast, done in prescribed time. It was good from the git-go. Some of the carrots laying on top of the roast were still a little on the crunch side but we waded through them. Couldn't even taste any horseradish. Maybe more next time.

Made this for dinner this evening and it was lovely. The horseradish evens out the sweetness of the coke and it has a really nice sauce. I did mine in the Crockpot and just thickened the sauce up in a saucepan at the end with a Slurry. Thanks Tina!

I am a food snob according to my friends, but this weekend I am going to make a ham recipe w/ a can of cola, horseradish, mustard and brown sugar, cause I am sure the ingredients will make for a great tasting ham. A true food snob doesn't turn their nose up at any ingredient that works! So, it seems like a natural progression to try your recipe next. Thanks for the post.

Sounds like it would be great in a slow cooker

Sounds crazy enough that it just might work! I'll give this dish a try, might tone down the chili sauce some for my wife's benefit.
My only question is why do you cover it with foil and then also cover it with a heavy lid? Seems like a belt & suspenders.

Do you know how comforting this sounds??? Gawwwwd I love it!! Tonight I fried up 8 frozen burger patties, and made a mushroom gravy to smother them in.... the taste reminded me of diner food, or TV dinner stuff. And I served it with corn niblets and instant mashed potatoes. BUT... I did use real butter, and I sauteed the mushrooms until caramelized. I has SOME class, ya know!! hahahahahahaha

We topped that off with some of my Mama's super duper homemade fruitcake. Her fruitcake is so good ;-)
