Ingredients

How to make it

  • In a large mixing bowl, pour brownie mix, sugars and vanilla.
  • Beat softened butter into the mix until blended and crumbly.
  • Add egg, beat until blended, then enough milk (litle by little) to make it fudgy, then add the chocolate syrup. (This will make the batter fail to fully harden, which you want!)
  • Blend well.
  • Pour into a large pan and bake at 350 for about 35-40 minutes, or until edges are pretty much done but the center will still be goupy.
  • Try tilting the pan a bit to move the center around to the edges, and bake a few more minutes if you have to.
  • Remove the pan from oven and let cool a bit, but not completely.
  • Line a tupperware with wax paper.
  • With a tablespoon, scrape up brownie mixture and mash the done parts with the goupy parts. Be careful, it'll still be hot!
  • Roll 1 inch balls with your hands and place into the lined tupperware. Use only malleable brownie; if it's too chewy or hard, eat it. (Don't discard it, are you nuts? That's tasty brownie!)
  • Cover and refridgerate overnight, or at least 5-6 hours.
  • The next day, or when properly chilled, the balls will be ready to coat. Just chop up your favorite topping, roll them around and press the topping into the ball. When they're done, keep them refridgerated until ready to eat. Your guests will be fighting over them too, and you'll be screaming, "Bitch, I made them- hand them over!!" lol

huh... my biggest "huh" comes from the fact that I never thought balls needed garnishing.... learn something new, every day! ;) (these really sound great for some social events... like a bridal or baby shower... or a scrapbooking party(do they HAVE scrapbooking parties?)...i'd maybe stay away from taking them to a bachelor party, though... unless you change the name just a bit.:) Great addition to the site, chef...for the humor and the content!

how did I miss these before. MMMMMMM. You must have used a LOT of syrup, because I add it all the time to my brownies. But then again, I also cook only about a 5 batch. And sit there and eat it all by myself. lol the 5 pieces can really be a 12, but I cut them really big. :"> These are balls I am gonna stuff in everyones mouths. lol Love it. :D

Ooh, can't wait for those, ash! (Not having to cook these mofos would be a delight!) I actually discovered this recipe by accident while attempting to add Hershey's chocolate syrup to brownie batter, hoping it would make it more sugary. (My tastebuds have been beaten down by a poverty-induced ramen noodle diet) What it did was fail to make the brownies fully solidify in the oven. I completely flipped out, because I'd promised brownies for my ex lover's 4th of July dinner, and the damn things were the consistency of cream of wheat. Out of desperation, I scooped them into balls and popped them in the fridge to make them solidify that way. When I tried them, they weren't bad, and I got the idea to chop up walnuts and coconut and even granola to coat them with. They went over really, really well. His mom wouldn't let us have any, she hid them in her bedroom. I pretended I made them on purpose, because it made me look awesome. /=D

I do something similar with peanut butter, although there is no cooking involed. I made them for Christmas dessert, I just called them pesnut butter balls, but your name is sooooo much better. I haven't posted that recipe here but I will soon.
