I'll hafta try the tomato juice n honey.
During vidalia season I'll eat an onion with worcestershire and balsamic vinegar wrapped in foil ... the whole thing by itself, and I won't come to until it's gone. Or bullion and butter. Throw some mushrooms in there ... a slice of bacon.
I think I'm going to pass out.

This looks really good! Have you ever tried grilling it? I love to grill and I bet that would be good too. Just wondered if I had to adjust the cooking time though.

This is excellent. Now I can have my onions without the fat of fried onion rings. Love onions and eat them raw with bread and butter. Thanks for a wonderful post. Your picture is mouthwatering. Got my five my friend. I was born in LR! I thought when I first saw your handle that you were from back east...silly me. Gotta run and search my recipe books for more to post. Keep your feet dry and stay out of the Tornado storms. Be safe! DottieT

These are Great. I do some like this where I just cut off the top, core out the center, chop that fine and mix with BBQ sauce, fill them set the tops back on and wrap them in foil and put them on the grill while I'm grilling.
Thanks for this recipe can't wait to try them!

I have a gadget I bought at a local Shaw's supermarket, a large plastic hollow onion that is in two pieces. You peel the onion, put it in the little onion-shaped cooker with butter, salt & pepper, a touch of sugar and pop it in the microwave for 5 minutes. This recipe sounds just like what I make but without the $5. gadget from Shaw's! They are so yummy. Thanks!
