How would this be served and with what? I love sweet onions.

Any roast...chicken..pork. beef..when I make this I usually roast some other veggies like carrots potatoes etc with it. It will go with most anything.

Now this is the silly question, how do you eat it?

You would slice it and gobble it down.

Love this one! :)

Thank you Noir !

My hubby will love this . Going to make some for him tomorrow. I usually make creamed onions to go with a roast but these look delicious too. Thanks for sharing.

Yummers. Gotta try this one for sure. Love onions and this one looks and sounds fantastic. Thanks for another great post.

WOW! What a great recipe. Love it!Love it!!

Yes, this really is a recipe I would love to try. Chef *loves* onions. I may even serve it with his Special Dinner on Saturday evening....

Oh, what could I use instead of vidalia onions?

I have a gadget I bought at a local Shaw's supermarket, a large plastic hollow onion that is in two pieces. You peel the onion, put it in the little onion-shaped cooker with butter, salt & pepper, a touch of sugar and pop it in the microwave for 5 minutes. This recipe sounds just like what I make but without the $5. gadget from Shaw's! They are so yummy. Thanks!

This sounds great, love caramelized onions, thanks for a great idea...

Love onions. This one is a keeper!

Another great recipe, Joymarie, thank you for sharing!

I've got to try it....Love those onions!

These are Great. I do some like this where I just cut off the top, core out the center, chop that fine and mix with BBQ sauce, fill them set the tops back on and wrap them in foil and put them on the grill while I'm grilling.
Thanks for this recipe can't wait to try them!

This is excellent. Now I can have my onions without the fat of fried onion rings. Love onions and eat them raw with bread and butter. Thanks for a wonderful post. Your picture is mouthwatering. Got my five my friend. I was born in LR! I thought when I first saw your handle that you were from back east...silly me. Gotta run and search my recipe books for more to post. Keep your feet dry and stay out of the Tornado storms. Be safe! DottieT

This really came out well. Best way I have ever cooked onions. Thanks - its a favourite now.

This really sounds extraordinary good. It will go well with a braai.

This looks really good! Have you ever tried grilling it? I love to grill and I bet that would be good too. Just wondered if I had to adjust the cooking time though.

I saved this, I'm gonna eat it as is! Who needs a roast when you have... toast??

Gonna' make this along with some Jerk Chicken tomorrow for my brothers birthday BBQ...Yummy!

I'll hafta try the tomato juice n honey.
During vidalia season I'll eat an onion with worcestershire and balsamic vinegar wrapped in foil ... the whole thing by itself, and I won't come to until it's gone. Or bullion and butter. Throw some mushrooms in there ... a slice of bacon.
I think I'm going to pass out.

This is a great little dish ~ I make a slight variation, will share it soon. We love it on the wide with steak, too. Yumm! KUDOS, girl! deb
