Ours is potluck. I think I'm bringing the potatos. I want to take it in a slow cooker crock pot, so I'll be looking for a recipe that fits the bill. Maybe with chives, bacon and cheese on top.

Our menu is still a work in progress but I think we're getting close. This is what I've settled in on so far.

Spinach Pear And Shaved Parmesan Salad - I may make a pomegranate vinaigrette to go with.
Bread/Rolls - probably buy some crescent dough
    Perfect Roast Turkey with gravy
    Ham (brought by an uncle)
    Cranberry Pomegranate Sauce
    Mashed Maple Boubon Sweet Potatoes
    Cornbread Dressing
Baked Mac & Cheese (brought by an aunt)
Corn Pudding/Fried Corn (brought by an aunt)
    Mean Green Bean Casserole
    Collard Greens
    Potato Poppers
    Cranberry Turtle Bars
    Pumpkin Tiramisu

Lots of work to do! Probably will do 2 smaller (10-12lb) turkeys and cook them side by side. We usually meet early, around noon or 1PM so that means we're waking up very early for the bird! Will start shopping on Saturday and prepare whatever I can in advance next week leading up to the big day. Also need to get some folding tables, chairs, and I'd like a small food warmer or two. I'm not getting too fancy, no place settings and paper plates, plastic cutlery. Not sure if I'll do any flowers or centerpieces...

    Dahlia everything sounds magnificent.

We always go to Mom's. The menu is somewhat smaller this year. Most of my friends here know, but, she's beein fighting stage 3 breast cancer this year, been through chemo, surgery and radiation. Cancer-free now, and back to work, but, she is worn completely out. Still having lots of trouble with lymphdema in her arm, and wearing a sleeve, and just doesn't have the strength that she did. (She told me yesterday she can't bake cakes anymore, can't lift the bowl of batter and pour it). Annnyway, we have much to be thankful for this year, and a scaled down dinner is fine. : ) We have mostly "plain janes" in our family as far as tastes go. lol

    She and Dad will have
    Turkey
    My Moms Turkey Gravy
    Mashed potatoes
    Green Beans
    Cornbread Dressing
The turkey will be stuffed with stuffing, not dressing, lol She makes it with pepperidge farm stuffing mix, mushroom soup, etc and we love it
    Homemade Mac n Cheese
    Dads Sweet Potatoes
    My Dads Slaw
    rolls
    pecan pie
Honey Baked Ham brought by a cousin
    My sister will make:
    Derby Pie
    Pound Cake
    I will make:
    Biltmore House Citrus Cranberry Relish
    Grandmothers Famous Cranberry Bread
(insert my daughter is 19 in the intro...lol)
    Spinach Pasta Salad/saved

I guess it doesn't sound scaled down, but, when all the cousins used to come, and my grandparents were living, there were several more desserts and a few more sides. : )

    I will probably make
Moms Fresh Apple Cake With Caramel Icing Or Cream Cheese Icing
to take to Bryan's moms for supper that night

I love that cake, Dahlia! I used to request it every year, but, Mom, my sister and my brother can no longer eat apples, so it hardly seems like a fair request. lol

Wow....everyone's menu sounds so good. Got me hungry for Thanksgiving......now!

We have scaled down so much over the years as far as quantity goes. So many in our family have either passed, moved away or just busy with their own families.

Our menu this year is as follows:

    Roast turkey
    Mashed potatoes
    Gravy
    My holiday stuffing
Candied yams (for our favorite Uncle who passed away two years ago the day before Thanksgiving. The year he passed and last year, I set a plate for him at our table with a special name card signed by all of us. Strange, I know, but it made my daughter and I feel like he was here)
    Scalloped Corn
Fresh green beans simmered all day with chicken broth, onion and bacon (Michael's favorite. He won't be here :( but he will be for Christmas!)
Pear and red onion gratin ( I thought for sure I had that posted but couldn't find it....????? Either the site or me.....prolly me, lol! Will post it. Added this at the last minute last year and everyone loved it!)
Dinner rolls with hubby's famous garlic butter
    Banana pudding
    Pecan pie
    Pumpkin pie
    Grammie's Fudge pie
    Fudge Pie

And during the week ( I always take vacation this week) :

    Banana bread
    Blueberry bread
Apple custard pie (again, thought I had that posted!)

And.....have invited Oma to fix whatever she feels like!

This year we are inviting our favorite neighbor and his son and as far as I know they are coming. Usually they go to his daughter's but she and her family will be away on holiday this year. Oma, even though she can't speak english, has become great friends with him over the years.....cause she brings him homemade baked goodies! Hey.....could there be a budding relationship there..........lol After all they are exactly the same age........

Pumpkin Tiramisu. Wow. Doesn't that look decadent! That spinach pear salad looks awesome too Dahlia.
Your menu at your parent's sounds wonderful Lori and you're right it doesn't sound scaled down! :) I keep eyeing up that apple cake recipe. Yum!
That Broccoli and Onion casserole sounds intriguing Tina. I bet Benjamin and Jim would really like that.
Those are some green beans you have there Kimmer. Lovely! Rolls with garlic butter. Again, a yum! How nice you take the week of Thanksgiving off. That's a nice idea. Too funny @ Oma and your neighbour! :) That was nice you copied Pat's 2010 Thanksgiving Menu over here. Miss you Pat!
Well, all of you have wonderful meals to conjure up next weekend. They all sound amazing! Happy Thanksgiving Guys!

Okay, I'm not going to make the cranberry bark, or the brie artichoke appy.
I think the corn casserole is going to become corn jalapeno muffins (do ahead) easy.
One less thing to cram into sister's oven. I can't do the cheesecake..have no clue where the cheesecake pan is at this moment. I'm not buying another one. Sis can just deal with it. I'm gong to buy a couple of pies, one pecan and one apple.

Everything looks amazing! Glad you included Pat's menu, Kimmer. Love Oma and the neighbor striking up a friendship.

I forgot about the broccoli casserole.
    Creamy Cheesey Broccoli Casserole
My son won't be happy if I forget that! lol
