It is cold and flu season again. I've seen a few others post their restorative drinks, and they do look nice. This concoction is not nice, in fact you would never drink it if you weren't desperate. But if you have a stuffed nose, aches and pains, chi... More

Sounds amazing!! Whenever I'm sick I always have a shot of warm whiskey or brandy before I go bed to try and kill whatever is making me sick. I imagine that all those spicy spices would only add to the benefits. Will definitely bookmark this for the next cold that comes my way.

I have a cold right now and everything but the whiskey...I'm afraid it just wouldn't be the same. But it does sound good.

Our family has always maintained that a good belt of scotch will cure most anything (we always serve it with espresso and honey...). The second or third time my then-boyfriend/now-husband met my family we tried our recipe on his cold and he swore blind he was going to die but he felt better the next day!! I agree with asheats, all those spices can only improve the concoction. This is definitely on my list of remedies come winter. THANKS!

That is a great cure all. When I lived further north had colds all the time. The spices just add to the "medication" of the whiskey!!!!!!!!!!

This is intriguing. I have a feeling it will make you feel a whole lot better and it's probably been around as long as the common cold has. Worth a shot. (No pun intended!)

My throat is scratchy and my nose is stuffy....I guess this qualifies as the beginning of a cold. I'll give it a shot and report back in the morning.

My grandmother once shoved a spoonful of something that tasted very much like is described in this recipe when I was sick. And wouldn't you know it, my cold symptoms seemed to go away immediately! They were replaced by an overwhelming sense of nausea!

My mom always gave me a hot rye toddy when I had a cold (rye, boiling water, honey and lemon). I always found it worked pretty well and at least I had a good night sleep! But I'm gonna try this next time --
