Taking an American classic and making it more American by dipping it in beer batter and deep frying it. This is what happens when boredom strikes in a professional kitchen.

Yeah, everyone at the restaurant thought it was pretty hysterical too. I cut it into quarters and handed it out. My grill cook ate one of the quarters and had an uneasy stomach for the rest of the night. Like any true athlete, you must train your gut for many moons before being able to devour this new found American delicacy.

LOL! A true straight-to-the-thighs American classic made even fatter...I mean better! ha ha...I love it....may even try it...but may bust the belt on my treadmill after my ten hours of running on it to burn half the calories after eating it. ;) Even so...it sounds delicious!!!!

There's a place down the road here that sells a burger that has 2 1/2 lbs. of beef, 1 lb. of bacon, and 1/4 pound of cheese (and you get a coupon for a free one of you eat it in less than 2 hrs)...I think your burger would be harder to eat! Honestly, I couldn't try either, but I would love to watch someone else do it! LOL! Thanks for the laugh!

Awesome! There is an Irish Pub nearby that makes a deep fried beer battered burger; they just deep fry the patty. Served on a bun with lettuce, tomato, and thousand island dressing. I usually order a side of onion rings and a strongbow cider. It's one of my favorite indulgences.

I actually forwarded this recipe to my coworkers and we spent a good 30 minutes on Wednesday afternoon gaping at it and talking about it. It's a tasty-looking beauty for sure...but it scares me, too. Ha! Great post - thanks...

I'm SO glad I accepted your friend invitation! Thanks for the laugh, and hoping for more recipes like this one. (Actually, I would love to try just a VERY small slice of this - just to be able to say I had. Plus I bet it's delicious ... this is so fattening it's immoral, so must be TWICE as good!) Got my 5 just for the brilliant idea.

I have a feeling we may see a booth selling these at our next state fair! Thanks for the pictures and the chuckles at the thought of eating this creation, I am sure my hubby would like to try though. He loves the 20 oz. burger at a local restaurant. Thanks for the invitation.

Amazing burger, can't add anything original to anyone else's comments. Amazing. I'm sure cardiologists everywhere would be horrified to see this monstrosity. And my husband would be first in line to order one. Delightful conversation starter on the boards. Congrats.
